My 83-Day Juice Fast Experience!

 

This is my authentic experience of consuming nothing but mono juices for 83 days. The why and the why not’s, and most of all what the hype is all about.

I am already enthusiastically interested in health and longevity. Being a Health and Mindset Coach will do that to you. Living through hell and so-called autoimmune, Lyme, Ulcers, heart irregularities, rashes, allergies, and anxiety also helped with the passion for healthy living. My diet consists of fruits, and I have been living as a Raw Vegan for 12 years. I am eager to tell you what I found during this very deep cleansing for my body, my mind, and my soul.

Now, before I get to the 83 days, what happened, what didn’t and why, it is important that you, the reader, understand that your journey starts from YOUR health standpoint. Slow and steady will always win the race, and shorter fasts are amazing too. All depending on the health of your eliminating organs, your glands and your level of toxicity. This is why guidance is very important if you are not an experienced health facilitator or coach.

 

First, what is juicing?

Juicing is not the same as blending. You might think the difference is obvious, but many people believe they are juicing while they are in fact blending. Making smoothies. Let us be clear on which is which.

When juicing, the machine, the juicer extracts the juice. The pulp is left behind. This way, we are left with the most nutrient part. When blending, there is no left-over pulp. The blender will pulverize the whole produce to make a smoothie.

When you juice, you are removing the insoluble fiber – the pulp. Fiber is good for you, no doubt, that is why we love the smoothies also.

 

The difference is the intention.

The power in the juice has different layers so to speak. As it lets the digestion rest, but not having to extract the nutrients from the fiber, not having to push it all through, more healing can take place. The less we ingest, the more we can allow detoxification to take place.

Also, it allows for that extra absorption, the extra hydration that the body needs to cleanse. We can live on juice alone for a very long time. The power is all about getting out of the way.

 

Benefits of juicing:

  • Juicing will help you absorb the nutrients from the fruits and vegetables. As most of us have impaired digestion, this is a very important point. If you have ever eaten meat and dairy, gluten and processes food, you KNOW you have impaired digestion. This limits your body’s ability to absorb all the nutrients from our food. Yes, even from the fresh raw amazing fruits and vegetables. The juices are pre-digested”. Now the goodies will go to where they can be used.
  • Juicing allows you to be able to consume the much-needed boost of fruits and vegetables. Most people find it hard to eat a sufficient amount of fruits and vegetables. Especially when starting on a new healthy diet plan.
  • Juicing makes it easy to consume a variety of fruits and vegetables. The variation of tastes is endless. Juices are easy to play with and fun for the whole family.
  • The anti-aging effect is real. As we live longer, we tend to get more dehydrated. We hold on to more acids, more waste, and every cell gets tired, and every gland seems to slow down its performance.

 

If we do not eliminate our waste, we build congestion interstitially (around cells) and intracellularly (inside cells), causing further cellular decay and death. Good elimination means moving our bowels three times a day, urinating adequately, sweating, and breathing properly. All of us fail in this category to some extent or another.

By correcting digestion, absorption, utilization, and elimination we can regain our energy, build vitality and vibrancy, and live a disease-free younger feeling life.

This is what “youthing” is all about. Regeneration. Better hormone balance, because we are letting our glands heal.

More vitality to every cell, and more hydration which means younger looking skin. The body is a complex mechanism, yet treating it like a million is easy. AND it will love us back, by feeling and looking amazing. Our very best.

Looking and feeling young is an inside job. And as much as what we put in matters, nothing quite beats what we can eliminate. We are getting older too fast, meaning stiff and wrinkled, painful and diseased from holding on to waste. By not letting our body eliminate and utilize. This also leads to cellular dehydration, which will leave us not only FEELING sick and tired but looking it too.

All of us fail in this category to some extent or another. Optimal elimination leads to Optimal Health.

My 83-Day Juicing Experience:

This all started by me adding celery juice to my morning regime. Me, the fruit woman needed to test what the hype was all about.

Personally, my daily diet consists of fruits and herbs, and as I mentioned; I have been on a raw food diet for 12 years.  (My diet recommendations are different for every client). Drinking pure celery juice first thing in the morning, preferably 16oz had become this “thing”, and I had more and more clients asking me what I thought. My opinion.

Well, I teach by experience. I needed to test this to be able to have a hands-on opinion on the matter. For all my clients and followers. Celery is an herb, and I love my herbs, I decided to give it a go. Such a powerful liver tonic and cleanser, and a pathogenic cleanser as well, sounded like a great experience from a former Chronic Lyme and EBV sufferer.

I consumed the celery juice every morning on an empty stomach. 16oz. NOT as palatable as Orange juice, I can tell you that much. I categorized it as being medicine. I added it to my daily regime of fruits and juices.

After about1.5 months on the juice, I was tired of feeling nauseated, of feeling like my liver was doing some deep work. This is the effect it had on me. Nausea. Leaving me with two choices; Either I stop, I or step it up. I am a stepper, so I thought I would go all juice to move things along more rapidly.

That and thought hey, let`s ease it up a bit and let digestion rest for a few days.

Let`s juice!

And, so I did.

 

This is what I consumed every single day:
  • 16 oz Celery Juice
  • 32 oz Apple Juice
  • 64 oz Clementine Juice

 

I started a very interesting ride but also a very educational or confirming one. One that will be very beneficial in my work, and which gave me an even greater perspective and humbleness towards nature and spirit.

One day became ten and I ended up consuming nothing but Juice for 83 consecutive days. Not planned, but intuitively driven. Awakening more of my senses, showing me to trust my body even more.

Listening to my body, opening for some deep healing and retracing. And this is the part that gave me the most amazing insight. How the body goes back and heals old injuries and issues.

From a perspective of not eating solid food, I know most people will feel this is restricting the intake, but I never felt hungry and I never wanted anything but my juices. I always felt abundant and nurtured.

This journey was never about lack or restriction. It was about letting go and about gratefulness. Believe me or not, the juices always looked amazing to me, except the celery juice which I never grew to love.

I see it as medicine, not food, and a very healing herb for the gut and liver. Teaching me I still had a sloppy liver after all these years of cleansing. Allowing me to regenerate deeper after all those years of being medicated with chemicals.

Almost dead from years of abusing my organs. I want to show just how damaged we are and what it takes to completely regenerate from diagnosed of a detrimental Autoimmune/Rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme, Ulcers, Allergies, rashes, parasites, Anxiety, Hives, Gastritis, Insomnia, Anemia and more.

  • So, is celery juice good for you?
  • Is it a potent healer for the gut and liver?
  • Will it help the body kill off pathogens?

 

I believe yes to all of the above. I have stuck with it for 4.5 months and I can feel the work being done.

This is the real world, and we are learning to step out of suffering, slowly, towards the light. Towards our own power. Awakening to the possibilities and potentials we all hold. Through simplicity and faith in nature.

The first 30 days was what I would call uneventful. Nothing out of the ordinary. Every day was business as normal except for some slight cleansing symptoms:

o    Mucus in eyes I the morning,

o    A slightly sore throat for a day.

o    Popping in ears.

o    Some mucus in stool.

o    Nausea.

o    Pimples on my chin.

o    Diarrhea.

No hunger, no weaknesses, showing me not only was I drinking enough for my activity level, but my body was also able to handle some house cleaning without too much energy spent.

 

The fun started once I hit day 50 and onward.

This is when it became more eventful. Not only was I still nauseated on and off, but I also hit what we call sulfur being released. From experience THAT is great news, it will burn our cells when left on the inside, but yes, it will burn as it is leaving as well. Not always a fun experience.

Sulfur is a burning hot substance accumulated in the body from sulfa drugs, high sulfur containing foods and general acidity in the body. It is bright orange in color, smells like sulfur and burns like lava. This was the level of cleansing I could see every day at this point. So, me, the toilet, my work, sleep and repeat.

Then came the retracing. I would say from day 60. I have written about the phenomena in my second book; Know the Truth and Get healthy, but these experiences were deeper and even clearer to me. A blessing to be able to share with confidence. To be able to have experienced first-hand how the body works it’s way backward, healing the old, the unhealed, traumas, broken bones, scars.

This is what it looked like:

  1. Woke up with a very achy hip. Hard to walk for 3 days. Inflamed and sore. This is the hip that I had surgery on twice, both to metal and plate it after my leg was almost torn off me some years back, and that had all metals removed a few years ago. Boy did it give me a flashback. Not fun, but it passed.
  2. My ankles became swollen the same way they would many, many, years ago when I was bedridden. Lasted for 2 days.
  3. My right knee which was twisted and damaged during surgery swelled and left me stuck in bed for two days.
  4. My stomach gave me the same pains as my ulcers used to. For about a week.

 

There are two incidents that stand out to me, and the first is when I had a dream where I was using crutches. Like a flash I held a crutch and could not use my left leg.  I am a dreamer and a receiver of messages from spirit, and so strange little dreams are not unusual, but this became a bit freaky when I woke from it and could not move my leg. My left foot was in so much pain I could not move it an inch. I was in complete agony. I laid for what felt like forever, gently trying to bend my foot, my knee, and I finally felt some relief and went back to sleep. Only to wake up the next morning with a perfectly fine foot. No pain at all!

Remembering vividly how the situation identically looked like when I broke my knee two years ago in a hiking accident. Deep healing had taken place during the night.

The second one concerned the top of my right foot. I could not stand on it for 3 days. It felt like it was broken. So swollen. I kept it high, used the essential oils and a castor oil pack to show it some love and it wasn’t until I was better it dawned on me; THIS is where it all started! THAT was where I was but by a tick 30 years ago, and THAT was where arthritis started. In that very foot. The reason I had to give up being a Spinning instructor, my high heels, my jogging. Wow, it blew me away realizing the body was digging for anything not completely healed.

 

All showing me retracing is very real. The body will go back looking for anything to heal once we step out of the way and allow it.

 

On top of these very physical experiences, I must say what has I see as the most amazing part of this cleanse is my heightened awareness. The clarity of mind and the connection to my innate wisdom. I can see even clearer how everything is energy. How we are a part of this magnificent creation, and how we have used food as a slow killer. How we have been led to believe more is better. Filling up our plate with dead mucus-forming food, keeping us constipated and slow.

Cleansing the physical body is a spiritual experience as we are freeing ourselves from the belief systems which are holding us back. Back from being US.

Ourselves.

Authentically healthy and happy. I am more spiritually connected than ever and will continue to explore what this amazing body of ours can do when given a chance.

 

Why the 83 days?

Well, not being planned I had no idea I would reach this number and still want to go on! No, I was not craving solid food at the end. I did not plan to break it after a certain number of days. I would have loved to keep on going but chose to be practical due to my schedule. Traveling and other business plans made me choose to go back to eating amazing fruits, testing out other things I could not while juicing.

Looking forward to gaining back the weight I lost, through healthy eating and move movement, and to explore on a new adventure. Drawing knowledge from the experience, serving my followers and clients better.

Now, as far as the length of any cleanses like this, you will not have to worry about your calories if you are consuming enough juice. This is why they can be extended. Still, do not under estimate the power they hold as you allow the body to go deeper into the deposits of toxins. Each journey is different, but I find much joy and enthusiasm from guiding people through longer fasts. It can be a truly magical journey, if one knows how to play safe. Individual health issues will always come first.

In my opinion and experience, walking away from the illnesses and pains, we are merely scratching the surface in understanding how our amazing vehicle, our temple, truly adapts to the less is more theory. Completely willing to regenerate, and also smile in the presence of simple yet high energetic and high nutritional food.
My general tips for a successful juice fast:
  1. Make it easy. You don’t need a lot of juicing recipes if you don’t want to. Like I did, you can simply pick a few fruits that you like and juice them.
  2. Start slow. Never do more than 1 week if you are coming from a cooked regular SAD diet. Start by eating light for a week, and then start slow. More is not better.
  3. Educate yourself: Success relies on how much you know not only about juicing but about YOU. Make it your business to be on top of it. This is your health. Your wealth.
  4. You can stop at any time. Juicing is not a competition and you do NOT have to stick to your plan no matter what. It is ok to stop when your body says it is getting a bit too rough.
  5. Make sure your bowels are moving. When we leave fiber out, many will not move and need help. You do NOT want toxins sitting in your intestines, so I recommend using an enema bag every day if you need it.
  6. Find support. Join a group or work with a Coach. I have several Juice-Cleanses in my Membership Group. 1-Week and 2-Week. If you want to go longer, get guidance, all depending on your experience.
  7. Break the fast safely. Read how to below.

 

How to break a fast:

Breaking a fast is more important than the fast itself for several reasons. The obvious being not overburdening the digestive system. Your body needs to adapt to digesting fiber again or moving fiber rather. I see many who mess up this part and it can be a very painful experience.

Also, while ending any fast you are slowing down the cleansing process and many toxins can get “stuck” instead of being flushed out. Meaning if you don’t go gentle, you could experience many symptoms like rashes and swelling after breaking the fast.

Slowly introduce smoothed fruit, all depending on how long your fast has lasted.

In general, I would say eat blended fruits for one day pr week you have juice fasted.

I broke my 83-Day fast with half a blended mango with 3 tablespoons of water, eaten over a period of 1 hour. That is what I call slow eating.

Over the course of a week, I will slowly add more and more mango until I feel back to eating my regular diet again. Do NOT take this process lightly.

 

Almost three months of juicing has left me:

  • Saying yes to celery juice.
  • Skinny but peaceful.
  • More awake.
  • Enhanced psychic abilities.
  • More knowledgeable.
  • A deeper understanding of how the body heals and regenerates.
