WHY and HOW Emotions Keep us Sick and What to DO About It

Do you know your why?

This might strike you as an odd question, but it is one of the most powerful and important questions you can ask yourself, ever. I never knew my why. I didn`t even know what that meant. My why? I mean, you wake up, you go to work or take care of kids, go to school or are held up by illness or something else. You come home, do stuff, hustle, plan a vacation now and then and keep going. Right? Do you know that plan-less kind of living? I do for sure.

Like most of us I was trapped in the thinking that my life was something to simply live through, and take as it came. I was conditioned to believe that I was a victim of circumstance, that my life happened to me. I am pretty sure that you know what I am talking about. Life can get overwhelming at times, to say the least, and still, we keep on going, and we should.

The thing is this; when you are chasing your days, your time, your life and your obligations, they are really chasing YOU. Blindly running around, searching for a better life, some peace and quiet, more money, better health, more free time, more self love. Never stopping to ask that one simple profound question: What is my why?

Why am I doing what I am doing?

Why am I making the choices that I do?

What is my passion?

What is my mission?

What is my PURPOSE?

You see, once you figure out the why, all you have to do is to live in alignment with it. Sounds simple? It might not be, but one thing is for sure, it will lift the spirit, trigger the passion for life, and it will let you look at every single situation a little bit different. In a good way different.

I was an Interior Architect. I was successful. I was happy, or so I thought. I was good at what I did, yet my work was not connected to a why. My direction in life was not connected to a why. My heart and soul was not in it. I was dis-connected. From me, from my true self. That is what happens when we let our brain run the show. The thoughts that distracts and obstructs. The eagerness to please, the syndrome of the high achievers that crash because of lack of purpose. Life bight become fun and rewarding at times, but on a soul level, if we are not connected and consciously aware of the why we do what we do, we will suffer on several levels. My health crashed. Totally crashed.

So, do you know your why? Why you are here, doing exactly what you are doing? Is it to help others, to care for your family, to spread art, music, love, or something else? I found my purpose through my own story. I realized that without being able to serve, there was not a real why. I confused pleasing with serving, as very many do.

We please others for validation and for approval. It can also be used as a means of controlling another person. It is a reflection of not feeling complete and whole. There is the constant longing to be seen and appreciated. As children we tend to please our parents as a mean to be seen and to get praise. The constant search for the outside reason to feel good about ourselves has started. With a lie, it has started this crazy race that one can never win. The longer you are in it, the less validated you will feel. The original intent, bites us in our beautiful behind, over and over again.

Serving comes from looking at the bigger picture. When it comes from the heart, helping someone is natural. Being there for someone, a community or a cause, will lift and empower you. Being able to bring forth joy and inspiration is empowering and giving. You will never expect anything in return, and it will come from free will and excitement.

When you know why you do what you do, it becomes your motivator and your inner cheerleader. It becomes your anchor in harder times, and your reminder that you are here for a reason. Let me give you a few examples:

  • You are not healthy, so your why is to experience true health, and that is why you do what you do. You stay focused because you have a mission.
  • You are working hard to change how you do your business because you want to support your family, so that is your why. Your family is your reason for your focus and persistence.
  • Your dream is to be able to travel the world, so that becomes your motivation as you go through what is needed to reach that goal. You have a direction.

Don’t get me wrong, not everybody has to have this large vision or goal in life. Not everybody is so called chronically ill, or needs to change large parts of their lives. That is not what this is about. This is about you knowing that every day has a purpose. That when life feels like struggle, you know why you are doing what you are doing. It grounds you and uplifts you at the same time.

The feeling behind true success is the feeling of having accomplished something valuable. Something we are enthusiastic towards. When we are inspired to work and evolve towards something, no matter what it is, we will feel successful when we reach it, or find it. It can be abstract or concrete. It can be an achievement or a spiritual awakening. Love or health.

We are all family. We are all here together. We are brothers and sisters. We lift each other, and stand on each other’s shoulders. Every successful man or woman has climbed and held onto someone else. A word, a poem, a smile or a helping hand. We never do anything completely alone. We are never better than, only different. We are never more, and cannot take away anyone else’s mojo. We only have our own to use, and everyone else has their special set of potentials.

You are here for a reason. Find your purpose and know your why. How you look at life will change. YOU will change.

My why is to help, reach and teach as many as I possible can how to achieve true successful health and abundance.

I love IT, and I love YOU!
